Foster to Forever Program
For those interested in our “Foster to Forever Program” (FTF), this special initiative is designed for the youngest members of our program who are not yet old enough or weigh enough for spaying/neutering, making them ineligible for our traditional adoption process. Keep an eye out for these special pups listed on our website with ‘FTF’ after their names.
It’s important to note that the FTF Program is exclusive to Albany County residents. This allows us to maintain jurisdiction over the animals until they are ready for spaying/neutering, usually around 15 weeks of age or as recommended by our caring vets in case of medical concerns.
What makes our program unique is our focus on finding foster parents who not only provide a temporary home but also have the heartfelt intention of adopting the puppy they foster. This ensures that our fostered puppies get to experience a loving and nurturing home environment during their transition from our care to their forever homes.
As part of the FTF Program, fosters will need to commit to bringing their puppy in for booster shot appointments and the important spay/neuter procedure. Once these crucial steps are completed, including micro-chipping, the adoption becomes official, marking a wonderful journey from foster care to a FUREVER home.
The cost to foster/adopt an FTF puppy is $275 which is refundable in the event the adoption does not go through.
If you’re a resident of Albany County and are interested in being a part of our “Foster to Forever Program,” complete the Foster to Forever Application to start the heartwarming journey of fostering and adopting a delightful companion.
